| | | | | Greetings,
Were
you inspired recently to participate in some Earth Day celebration,
protest or (preferably) activity to make the world a little cleaner or
greener? In my ongoing work as chair of Sanctuary Friends Foundation of the Florida Keys and as volunteer in a number of Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary
activities, part of my chosen legacy is to make every day Earth Day. To
help you do the same, I have a few presents I wanted to pass along this
week. I hope you’ll enjoy them and find them useful!
The first is called the 2009 Family Green Guide. Download your complimentary copy here. The Guide was produced by GREENandSAVE.com,
one of America's leading free 'Green' resources for anyone who wants to
save money, the environment, and create a healthier home and
lifestyle. Visit their site, too - they compile data from a broad
range of public and private sector reports as well as manufacturer
specifications and feedback from families. The American Institute of
Architects and National Association of Realtors use the site as a
training resource. GREENandSAVE.com
was also chosen by Clear Channel Radio's Great Green Home Show as "The
BEST user-friendly site for Homeowners." It is a wonderful resource to
find additional ways you can 'Go Green.'
My second present is a link to the new Green Hotels Directory,
the world’s first online reservation system that promotes hotels
engaged in green practices – including things like use of
non-caustic cleaners, recycling or renewable energy. Every little bit
helps! It made its online debut on Earth Day 2009.
Associated with the site is the brand new Travel Greener blog
devoted to providing “resources for earth conscious consumers who
want to soften their own footprints and recognize the efforts of travel
providers who are doing impactful things to restore, beautify and
protect the world in which we live.” We think that’s
nice.
We’re not affiliated with these
resources in any way, but hope you find them useful or beneficial. As
with anything, take what you like and leave the rest – find what
works for you! Let us know what you think, and more importantly
what you’re inspired to do …
Cheers,
Dolly

| | | | | To
commemorate Earth Day 2009, I share with you my own first legacy
story. The experience has served as the inspiration behind the
consulting and coaching work I'm doing. In a nutshell, that is: to help
people find the things that are meaningful to them and truly add to
life, and do them to realize a level of fulfillment and joy that only
comes from generosity. What are those things for you? How
can I help you fulfill your grand ideas for making this world a better
place? --- I started my own Creating Legacy journey when, as
a nurse and attorney practicing health care law, studying to become a
professional coach, and developing my company Thrive!!, I began some of
the hardest work I'd ever done. I worked with my sister, also a
high achiever and busy physician and mother of three, to help our
parents begin their departure from this earth. [Read

If
you have or know about a legacy story we should feature, please email
me with the background information, including any links to online sites
where they were featured. We’d love to consider
including them in our growing list of examples of great personal
legacies, consciously created.
And –
take our Legacy
Story Quiz
and share your thoughts! We may use them in a future story.
